The Connected world (First Episode - Mobile Phones)

As i said already said before i am going to start The Connected World series today by talking about mobile phones hope you enjoy it have fun
Start of Mobile Phones(Cell phones)
In December 1947, Douglas H. Ring and W. Rae Young , Bell Labs engineers propsed the idea of

cell phones by introducing the idead of transimiting towers but Cellular technology was undeveloped until the 1960s, when Richard H. Frenkiel and Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs developed the electronics.
On April 3, 1973, Motorola employee Dr. Martin Cooper placed a call to rival Joel Engel, head of research at AT&T's Bell Labs, while walking the streets of New York City talking on the first Motorola DynaTAC prototype
In 1978, Bell Labs launched a trial of first commercial cellular network in Chicago then came the first handheld device in 1983 which was Motorola DynaTAC 8000X

in 1946 was the first real radio telephony network 0G later in the begining of the 1980s with the launch of the first mobile phones network several generations were introduced 1G , 2G , 3G and the
prereleased 4G
How do mobile phone works?
The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card holds a microchip and slips into the handset allowing you access to a mobile phone network. This network is made up of a series of base stations that send signals used by mobile phones. The area covered by each of these base stations is called a cell and cells overlap to make up a coverage area.
Whenever you switch a mobile phone on it will connect to the nearest base station. As you move around you may get closer to another base station in another cell. When this happens, the network will automatically switch your phone to the other base station.
If the base station that your phone is switched to is already working to its full capacity it cannot take in your signal. If this happens you may get a drop out and your phone will not work in that area. Dropped calls can also happen when you are in an area where cells do not overlap.
Mobile Generations
0G which was the first commerical radio telephony network introduced by motorolla and bell labs this network were used by car phones , taxis and police cars not that these networks didn't need an real operator as now as they were all operated as normal phones
1G was the analog way of transimting in the 1980s which meant that a network is divided into many transmiting towers with automated protocols to automaticlly transfer the user from a cell to another when he moves out of the bounds of the transmiter he using
2G , 2.5G and 2.75 (Most widely used) was introduced to the field in USA in 1990 preceded by the first GSM network in Finland the second Generation networks was unlike their older cousins 0G and 1G networks they were fully digital and needed an operator and now its used by most of the mobile phones and it contains many types(Speeds) one of the most successful one was the GPRS 2.5G then the latest and most used one is EDGE(unofficall 2.75G) which is technically under the care of the 3G.
3G (Dream comes true!) not longer after the development of 2G networks 3G networks were introuduced these 3G networks starting from 384 kbps(Kilo bit per second) - later added to 3G the lower 236 kbps Edge - are the real dream of the human being as it added the ablitiy to fast streaming of audo and video which was later used ing video streaming , video calls and the incredible internet speed although EDGE had acheived the fast data transfer need so direct video streaming and fast internet were possibole it failed to satisfy the real known video call issue so 3G networks were the first real solution for this problem but unfortounately most 3G networks crash alot since still unstable.
At Last all i want to say that mobile phones have been a friend of the human being since its first view in 1946 in car models and now in its Micro size compared to older mobile phones and despite of their dangerous radiations they are on of the great achievment in the communication field.

The Connected World

I'm back now to my beloved blog as i was busy for a while but am back with an idea that flashed in my mind suddenly while studing chimstery!!! , I don't know how it showed up in my mind but i think its great and that i must share it with you.
